iPhone 3G, the day after (playing with 3G and GPS)
July 19, 2008
The biggest selling point of the new iPhone is its 3G capabilities so I thought I’d run it through its paces to see just how fast it really is. In short, it was well above my expectations!
The left is 3G and the right is my home Wifi connection (you can also tell by the icon next to the carrier’s name).
I had to run some errands in the morning and thought I’d test out the GPS! This is me in the parking lot.
More details after the jump.
iPhone 3G goodness

It’s here! It’s here! My iPhone 3G arrived today. I was told it would arrive during the first week of August (which would have been too late), so I was pleasantly surprised to have received this little package today. I chose the white version because it’s less prone to fingerprint smudges, and it’s a little more exclusive (only available in 16GB model). It looks great too!
Without further ado, the white iPhone 3G. Photos taken with the Nikon D80.
3G is much faster than EDGE and approaches Wifi speeds. My 6GB data plan will come in handy.
Black and white. My zebra phone.

My moo cards arrived today
July 7, 2008

There are 100 of them and 50 different photos. You can even make each card unique but I opted not to do that since I wanted multiple copies of certain photos. The back side contains my contact info.
Some of my photos didn’t quite crop correctly though, but it’s ok.

Tour de Stanley Park (Critical Mass Vancouver)
June 28, 2008
I’d hate to be one of those people stuck in their car in the 30 degree heat!
This video was taken at the intersection of Denman and West Georgia.
Critical Mass is a grassroots reclamation of public space — a bike ride and skate — held the last Friday of every month. You are invited to enjoy the safety and comfort in the car-free space that we create by simply riding together! Bicycles, skateboards, rollerskates, self propelled couches, and any other form of human powered locomotion are all welcomed!

Tilt Shift [Photography]
May 24, 2008
I’ve been playing around with a photographic technique known as Tilt Shift. By manipulating the focal point of a photo, you can make the objects look like a miniature scale model. Here are a few of my favourites (others are on my Flickr). Click on the photo see the larger version. I also uploaded the originals for comparison.
I took these photos without tilt shifting in mind so there’s room for improvement, but for a first go at this, I’m happy with the results. A great example would be something like this.

A great piece of artwork we had a lot of fun making this morning. I work in IT, the rest should be self-explanatory. Go Team Apple!
This was taken with my new camera. It’s time to resurrect my Flickr account!
