Then you should get the $30/6GB data plan from Rogers/Fido (and the iPhone to match)! I just added it to my account this morning. It’s cheaper than the price of a morning cup of coffee or buying the newspaper. Since this is GSM, you may even use your phone as a wireless modem for your laptop. No more having to find a wifi hotspot (which is not cheap anyways..). Oh, did I mention, I can use this anywhere in Canada without any roaming fees!

To really get a good idea of how great a deal this new promotional plan is, one only needs to take a quick look at Roger’s other offerings. The next cheapest plan is $15 for 2MB (that’s not a typo), $30 will get you 300MB (same price!) and the next plan up is $50 for 500MB (again, not a typo).

For once, Canadians lucked out with a killer data plan. Offer ends Aug 31. Don’t let this one slip by.

Chinese-language Facebook launches | Media | guardian.co.uk

Facebook has introduced Chinese-language versions of its social networking website, marking its first move into the world’s largest internet market.

Users in China are now directed through to zh-cn.facebook.com, offering simplified and traditional Chinese language versions, and the social networking site has also added Russian, Finnish, Portuguese, Czech and Catalan offerings.

The social networking site started its first new language versions in January this year, using professional translators to establish the basic parts of the site and then asking users to translate the rest.

That was actually quite a smart thing for them to do. By asking users, it has resulted in better translation and also saves them lots of money.

BBC – Newsbeat – Technology – Facebook set for major facelift

If you are getting fed up of all the vampires, booze mail and super wall posts, then help could be on the way.

The social network site Facebook is getting ready for the first major makeover in its short history.

Designers are planning some widespread changes to the way the core profile page is organised, aimed at making it “simpler, cleaner and more relevant”.

The site is consulting its users on the changes ahead of a gradual roll out starting next month.
